What is a custom banner?

(Digital Printed instead of traditional cut vinyl, we can print photos artwork etc onto banner material aka “digital banner printing”)

Need a design printed on a banner today? You may have seen them at a large event or perhaps a trade show. Banners are used in all types of events and are perfect for large areas where important information is to be displayed. The largest banner we ever printed and manufactured was 30 feet long and is still being used at events today!

All banners are hemmed along the edges and grommets.

Types of Banner Material:

  • 13oz. Heavy-Weight Banner Vinyl – Outdoor and Indoor Most typical
  • 18oz For blockout of sunlight and extra strength. (Special Order Only, Contact US for a quote)
  • 8oz For indoor use. (We do not carry because its very similar to 13oz)

Ways to Display Your Banner

There are many different ways to display your banner. Stand them up inside your store on the ground floor or hang them on the side of your building. We offer banner stands, grommets for hanging, proper hemming for poles and dowels can be used for whats known as a “pole pocket” banner.

What is the largest banner size I can purchase?

The largest banner size we can print on 1 edge is 59 inches. We are limited by width but not length. So if you needed a banner 4’x20ft’ there would be no issues because 1 edge is below 59 inches. If your artwork is in a portrait or landscape it does not make a difference.

We can also hem two pieces together. For example if you need an 8x8ft step and repeat banner.

What are the most common sizes?

We printed quite a bit of little league banners, they were 3′ x 8′. We also print many 3’x6′ and 4’x6′ banners for several sports teams.

What is the spacing between grommets?

Grommets are spaced using a software algorithm between 24 inches to 36 inches evenly. We can also make a pole pocket if needed.

The last banner I purchased did not last in sunlight, what about yours?

The cost of printing can be high. Sign shops sometimes use budget inks because the items they print only need to last a certain amount of time. For example a trade show banner for a specific tradeshow that probably will be used indoors a small handful of times.

The issue arises when a banner is used for outdoors in direct sunlight. San Diego is unique because its generally sunny year round.

Our banners utilize high quality (expensive) UV resistant eco-solvent inks for maximum sunlight durability.

I have a file ready, what files formats do you accept?

Many printers are picky about the file format. For good reason! Some files are just not printer ready. We will try our best to make your file print ready. Only in the worst situations will we decline to print the file, or ask to redesign your banner for a small fee. (if you are willing to prepay and agree to not ask for a refund we can print difficult artwork but cannot guarantee the results) As far as file types, we can print ALL file types. This includes AI, PDF, PSD, EPS, TIFF, JPG (Needs to have enough data size to print)

If you have extreme color needs let us know and we will use your ICC profile. (extremely rare)
